Funding Deadline Approaches for California Nonprofits and Small Businesses

In case you missed it the first time, Round 2 of the California Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program opens next week on Tuesday, February 2nd. The application window is open for one week only, closing on Monday, February 8th. These grants are small – ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 – but they are open to nonprofits and small businesses with annual revenue starting as low as $1,000. Find out more at https://careliefgrant.com.

You may already know about PPP 2.0 — the second round of the Payroll Protection Act. This federal loan program is also open to both nonprofits and businesses. It looks like the application process is open through March 31st and there are options for First Draw Loans and Second Draw Loans. Check with either your business bank or your community bank to find out more details and to get started with an application.

The application process can be confusing! For nonprofits, CalNonprofits has posted helpful information and webinars about both programs on their website (https://calnonprofits.org/). The organization is also an application partner to nonprofits for the California Small Business Grant Program and you do not have to be a member to receive their support.
